OTM Cattle 260421
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 47 OTM Cattle.
A larger show of cows was forward with demand being extremely strong for all classes and many more are required to fulfil demand.
The sale topped at £2024.45/233.5ppk for a seven-year-old British Blue cross Limousin cow from Messrs JW & M Buckle, Bleathgill, purchased by Jewitt Meat Company.
Messrs Metcalfe, Home Farm, sold British Blue cross cows to a top of £1660.02/189.5ppk, purchased by Mr Owain Llyr.
Messrs JD & F Wharton, Town Head Farm, sold British Friesian heifers to £1099.17/183.5ppk purchased by Mr L Fell.
Holstein cows, straight-out-the-parlour, achieved £1143.65 from Messrs F Harrison & Son, Crossrigg.
