Store Cattle 120421
On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 140 Store Cattle.
A marvellous trade was witnessed in the store cattle ring with demand high and returns smashing vendors expectations by up to £100 per head.
The sale topped at £1565 for a pair of 22-month-old, dairy-bred Limousin bullocks from Messrs S Allan & Sons, Greenhow, purchased by Mr R Dickinson. The same home also sold a British Friesian bullock to £1295 and a pair to £1225.
Several runs of yearling cattle achieved in excess of £1250, topping at £1275 from Messrs JB Holliday & Sons, Town Head Farm, purchased by Mr D Barker.
Heifers sold to £1385 for a 24-month-old Limousin from Messrs Wales, Thackwood, purchased by Mr D Whaite.
Aberdeen Angus heifers, 17-months-old, achieved £1135 from Messrs WE Strong, Midtown Farm.
