On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of Prime Cattle.

A sharper trade was witnessed in the prime cattle ring, with Mr D Raine, Old Parks, selling Limousin bulls to £1527 on two occasions, topping at 214.5ppk both purchased by Mr L Fell.

Clean cattle topped at 250ppk/£1465 for a lovely weight Limousin heifer from Messrs G & JE Bell, Far Broom, purchased by Cocklakes Farm Shop.

Dairy-bred Aberdeen Angus heifers from Messrs WE Strong, Midtown Farm achieved 193.5ppk/£1046.87 for 541kg.
