Store Cattle Report 071220

On Monday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 200 Store Cattle. 

 

Another sharp trade was witnessed in the store ring with all classes achieving the same buoyant trade of last fortnight.

 

The sale topped at £1465 for a Limousin cross heifer from Messrs JA & CM Brown, Park House Farm, purchased by Mr D Whaite. A dairy-bred British Blue heifer achieved £1365 from the same home.

 

Store bullocks topped at £1275 for a Limousin cross Simmental from Messrs Wales, Thackwood, this run of seventeen-month-old cattle averaged £1219.

 

Messrs WK & D Hall, Bells View, sold a run of seven dairy-bred bullocks to average £1215, topping at £1265 for a pair of British Blue’s.

 

Messrs Elliott Bros, Harbour Flatt, sold some lovely, sweet ten-month-old Limousin cattle to average £998, topping at £1035 for a bullock purchased by Mr H Thirsk.

 

Many more cattle are required to fulfil demand. Our next sale will be held on Monday 21st December, please advise all entries to the mart office by Noon on Monday 14th December.
