On Wednesday Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP held their fortnightly sale of 800 store lambs.
Another good show of store lambs was forward with demand being very strong especially smart bred lambs topping at £92 ahead for a pen of 15 Texel X Beltex Lambs from Messrs J G & H Miller, Smithy Garth selling to M/s F Savage & Son.
A cracking run of Suffolk X Mile Lambs from Messrs JE Bellas & Son, Croft Ends Farm achieved £87 ahead with others closely followed at £87.
Our next sale of store lambs will be held on Wednesday 29th September and already includes two consignments of 800 from Mr G Cartmel, Hollands, and Mr P Smith, Cocklakes. Please advise all entries to the mart office.
