On Friday 14th November, Penrith & District Farmers’ Mart LLP conducted our quarterly collective sale of Tractors, Machinery, Plant, Livestock Equipment and Small Tools. They call it the largest and best sale in the UK, and for us it was another record breaker: • 2431 lots forward • 84% clearance rate • 512 purchasers and 423 vendors • 65 Southern and Northern Irish buyers • Entries forward from Aberdeen to Wexford and Southern Ireland to Staffordshire • 250+ tractors, loadalls and diggers forward • 8 items over £30,000 • 11 items over £20,000 • 64 items over £10,000 • Sale began at 9.00am and concluded at 8.15pm Once again, we must thank all our hardworking staff for their efforts in making this sale a huge success as well as all the vendors putting the time and preparation into helping fill the yard here at Penrith with excellent sale entries making it well worthy for buyers travelling the extra mile to secure purchases. The yard offered a huge array of quality second hand items with literally something for everyone. A fine dry day attracted record numbers in the crowds with many items surpassing their reserves by considerable amounts. The sale topped at a new market record of £77,000 for lot 1220, a superb Massey Ferguson 6S.165, on a 2023 plate in excellent condition. Clean and tidy tractors fell a long way short of buyer’s requirements. Clean machinery once again sold with great ease, topping at £24,000 for another lot late in the sale, a Bunning 130 rear muck spreader, manufactured in 2014. A real eye-catching lot in the sale was most definitely a Massey Ferguson 148, restored to a high standard, achieving £14,500, heading over the water to Southern Ireland. All sections gathered plenty of interest ensuring a buoyant trade throughout the day. Plant possibly took the edge over a lot, with a JCB 536-60 Loadall, on a 2021 plate, achieving £36,000. Numerous diggers were realising £8,000-£10,000, topping at £36,000 for a JCB 3CX in beautiful condition on a 2019 plate. Our next sale will be held on Friday 13th February 2026, all entries should be sent to jennysayer@penrithacution.com, please include pictures for advertising purposes.
